Coffee Time

I sat at the coffee shop enjoying my typical half-caff skinny latte and light soy muffin. Instead of reading my Oprah magazine I decided to people watch. I am an inspiring actress and the hobby of people watching helps with my craft. Understanding actions and reactions improves my abilities to feel a moment when reading a script.
I watched several people enter and exit a New York City pawn shop and assumed they went to sell gold. I watched a man approach a flower stand and guessed the flowers were for his girlfriend (perhaps he had a date) but then when I saw his rude and impatient interchange with the clerk I changed my guess to be that the flowers were for him. A man that rude and abrupt probably has no girlfriend.
I returned my gaze to the pawn shop and saw a well dressed rich lady exit with a bag. The story I created in my mind is that she chose to pay cash 4 gold which is why she stays wealthy. She finds no need for her ego to tote a Tiffany’s blue bag with silky ribbons while paying retail price for items she can get for a much lower cost here.
