Living In Colorado Increases Your Chance of Disability

I love it here so much in Colorado. I used to live in Southern California, but for whatever reason it sure seems like I see a lot more people on crutches around here. I don’t mean just during ski season, either. Maybe it’s because this state has so many opportunities for outdoor activities.
With the plethora of rafting, hiking, biking, climbing and yes, of course, skiing available, I guess that sort of explains the burst of injuries I’ve noticed since moving here. It would be interesting to explore the issue of whether it costs more to get disability insurance in Colorado with disability insurance companies. On the other hand, since we have a relatively large population of professional-types, maybe there’s some group discount or something. Hey, since doctors and the like tend to love and golf and ski so much, it would be interesting to see whether a doctor in Colorado pays more or less for physician disability insurance.
Even if you aren’t the outdoorsy type, I bet living in a snowy state just increases your injury rate in general. And altitude? Well, I guess maybe not. But I bet all these wild animals don’t help the rate any, either.
