I Never Thought Falling Asleep Could Be So Hard

I went to see my doctor yesterday. He agreed with me that it sounds like I’m not getting the kind of sleep I should be with a CPAP machine, despite my sleep apnea. He had me go in for a polysomnogram last night. Then he gave me a whole bunch of literature on this new BiPAP machine, a bilevel positive airway pressure machine, which apparently alternates the level of pressure so that I can breathe in with more pressure, and then breathe out with less pressure. Sounds pretty cool to me! Especially since I can hook it up to my old CPAP mask, and it’s available from the same CPAP Supply company that I like to use. My worry, however, is that I just read this article on how sleep apnea can actually cause heart attacks. What if my sleep apnea is getting worse? Can it get worse? I mean I’m obviously being treated for it, but what if that’s not enough? If you ask me, I think the real culprit in America society is that they publish so much information about what might be killing you that we all get worked up and then we die from the stress. Seriously. Think about it.
