My Brother’s Barn Cats
By DJ on Feb 17, 2009 in Entertainment
My brother and his wife are farmers who inherited about a dozen barn cats from the previous property owner. He says he makes sure to take good care of the cats, even if they’re a bit wild and can probably take care of themselves. He says he is grateful to them for keeping his property free of mice. Pete buys them cat food online from a place that sells discount cat supplies. He also gets Frontline Flea Control for them. Pete and his wife don’t have any kids, so they’ve adopted the cats.
Sometimes I take my own kids to visit the farm. It takes over an hour for us to drive there from the city, but the kids don’t mind. They always get excited about going to the farm, especially because they can play with the cats and feed the goats and chickens. Frankly, I think the kids get more excited about going to the farm than they did when I took them to Disneyland a couple of years ago. They got tired of waiting in lines and I could’ve saved myself what it cost. Pete thinks that’s pretty funny. He keeps saying he should start charging us admission for visiting.
