A friend of mine is getting ready to come home from his third tour of duty overseas.  He has been very fortunate so far and his wife is looking forward to his arrival.   He has about one more year left of active service before he will step away from military life.

One activity that my friend is really fond of is airsoft.  He loves to run military maneuvers in games such as capture the flag, etc.  Some say that he goes a little overboard, but he enjoys it.

I’m thinking of buying him an airsoft gun from tokyo marui.  They make a varied assortment of weapons, and it will be a big upgrade from the rental guns that he normally uses.  I’m not sure whether I am going to buy him a P90 or a sniper rifle.  Knowing his personality, a sniper rifle will probably be more suited for him.  I can see him now under the cover of brush waiting to knock off his next target.

If you have a buddy in the military, introduce him to airsoft.  It’s a great activity that will allow them to have some fun with their military training.  It also may work as a nice stress reliever from the normal grind of civilian life.
