Business Degrees Online
By DJ on Sep 28, 2008 in Education
I live in a town that doesn’t have much in the way of college business courses, or a very big selection of any kind of college courses. After doing some internet searches, I was happy to see there are plenty of accredited online colleges with all kinds of classes, and quite a few that offered online business degrees. I was mainly interested in online mba programs. I had already taken some undergraduate courses like economics and marketing, but needed more courses for an MBA. I am an accounts representative in a small bank. It is my dream to someday work overseas in the financial management field, so I have an interest in international business and multinational companies.
I also looked for online schools that offer foreign language classes, since I’d like to take some Spanish. That’s a language that will always be useful even if I don’t work overseas at some point. We are getting more Hispanic workers in our area. Some of them are coming to the bank to open new accounts, so I want to communicate better with them. No one on our staff is fluent in Spanish. I talked to my supervisor about this last week; today she told me the bank would pay my tuition for any Spanish courses I take, including online classes. She also said that could lead to a raise in pay, depending on performance reviews. That was great news, so I’ll probably try an online Spanish class first.
