1. Travel writer
2. Sommelier
3. Cake maker like ace of cakes
4. Scuba diving instructor
5. tour boat operator, preferably one of those catamarans with the glass bottoms that operate in the caribbean. Sounds good to me!

Sounds like fun to me. I wouldn’t mind being a yogi either! Or maybe being a professional RA and live in a dorm again. Or a teacher. Or own a bakery!

I think it makes perfect sense! Especially considering that your pay is likely to rise dramatically within five years and then plateau or raise slightly over the next ten, I say change careers, take the money and run!

Be still my heart! Why would I want to completely switch gears and start at the bottom every five years? What is all my hard work for then? This is giving me the impression that the answer is “absolutely nothing”.

I agree with you completely! I just feel like there are so many things I’m interested in and want to learn, so why would I limit myself with a single career? In addition to which, you make more money if you keep your mind engaged, right?

Of course! Who doesn’t want more than one career? I have multiple careers at the same time. If you consider that it takes roughly 10 years to master any given set of skills, in ten years you’re going to be bored at your job. So why not switch it up and cultivate your interests in the mean time?

Can’t your style just be whatever makes you happy? I’ve never understood the laws of coordination or anything like that; I just wear whatever is comfortable and situationally appropriate.
