This charming riverside boardwalk is a popular riverfront meeting place for the locals and a place for out-of-state and out-of-country tourist like to gather for a great mile and a half walk, packed with restaurants, bars, museums, a hotel Florida USA which is internationally known, a fantastic marina, and the most scenic views of the downtown skyline. There are convenient water taxis shuttle people to the opposite and Jacksonville North Landing’s , which not only has additional dining and shopping, it is a destination point for everyone staying or living in Jacksonville. The nightlife alone provides what anyone could possibly want and every venue offers a gorgeous view of the St. Johns River and of Jacksonville.

This is easy to do in such a diverse architectural culture where heritage is preserved and also transformed to compliment the present. The Doral Golf Course is located at 4400 N.W. 87th Avenue. This golf course has a long history, the first PGA held in Florida was the Doral Open Invitational in 1962. But the resort not only offers golf, there’s a tennis center, a water park with a 125 foot waterslide, an adults only pool, a fitness center and Camp Doral for children ages 5 to 12.

But it’s the 5 different golf courses that attracts thousands of golfers every month; The Blue Monster: is where the World Golf Championship is played. It has the longest course at 7,728 yards. It was originally designed by Dick Wilson, but has been renovated and updated many times over the past 20 years by Raymond Floyd and Jim Mclean. The Great White golf course is named in honor of it’s designer, Greg Norman. This course is 6,679 yards and boasts of in-play water on 14 of the 18 holes, all of which are very challenging with its crushed coquina shells along with hundreds of palm trees. The Gold golf course was just redesigned by Raymond Floyd, who incorporated gently contoured greens, water surrounding 16 holes, and strategic bunkers that bring back a more traditional style golf course. The Red golf course is a short course at only a mire 6,058 yards. This course was designed to challenge golfers to play more strategically and favors shot placement instead of the long ball. I recently started spending a lot of time on Meetup.com. This is a social networking site designed to actually allow you to meet people in real life. It is not a dating site. It’s just a site for people who want to get together with other adults to do activities that interest them.

I joined several groups that are related to travel. A few of them are actually supposed to be for people who want to travel together. However most of them are just for people who love to travel and who love to talk about travel. My favorite one is a group called Food and Travel Chats. We get together at a variety of great San Francisco restaurants and talk about our favorite places to travel.

I’ve gained a lot of great information from this group. I’ve learned about the cheapest things to do in Chicago, the best trails to hike throughout California and the top destinations to consider when planning a trip to Central America. More importantly, though, I’ve gained new friends. I’ve found a community of people who have interests that are similar to mine. I don’t know if we’ll become life long buddies but I do know that I’m happy to have found this group for now.

I have booked a romantic coastal location for our weekend away that is just a few hours from our home.  We will drive there after work on Friday (we happen to both be done at four), and stay through until Monday since neither of us works until Tuesday.  It should be a great weekend of rest and relaxation.

But I know that my wife sure doesn’t like sitting around a hotel room for any length of time, so I have made sure to find some good tourist attractions that we can visit.  If the weather is nice enough, we might even have the chance to go scuba diving at a shipwreck an hour from where we are staying.

Irrespective of what we do on the trip, it will just be nice to reconnect with her and remind ourselves why we fell in love in the first place.

We started saving our money over a year beforehand and we were pretty sure that we had our finances in check before we started the drive to the airport.  But tragedy struck and we ended up in an accident.  Our minivan was totaled, but no one was hurt, so we went on the vacation anyway, fully knowing that when we returned home that we would need a new vehicle.

On the plane, we spoke to the kids about the problem and asked them if they minded that we wouldn’t do some of the family activities that we had planned.  We also asked them what was most important to them so that we could make decisions based on what the family wanted.

As it turned out, our oldest daughter searched online for the best swim with dolphins promotions and we were able to do all the activities we had planned and still had money left over for when we returned home.  Sometimes you wonder what you would do without your kids.

One of the guests was from New York. His reason for traveling to San Francisco was to enjoy a laidback “visit to the country”. Of course, San Francisco is a dense urban area. In fact, many San Francisco attractions are similar to popular New York attractions (museums, theatres, etc.) Nevertheless, it’s quiet compared to New York so this traveler was coming here to relax and recuperate from his busy life.

The other guest was from a small town in Idaho. She had never been to a city with a population larger than 100,000. You can imagine how busy she thought San Francisco was with its one million odd people crammed into a fifty square mile space! For her, San Francisco travel is all about adventure and excitement and seeing “the big city”.

So is San Francisco a laidback destination or a busy one? It just depends on where you’re coming from. For those of us who live here, it’s that place that’s perfectly in the middle!

Someone who is thinking about taking a trip to an island destination like Fiji will need to think about the accommodations that they desire. Although you may not know it, there can be a big difference between staying at a Fiji hotel and staying at a Fiji resort. You may want to splurge for the resort in order to get the benefits that the resort will offer.

The main difference between the resort and the hotel is that the resort will have many more amenities available to you. It will offer on-site amenities such as a gym and a spa. A hotel may offer this as well. However, a resort will offer additional types of amenities that a hotel doesn’t offer. For example, a resort may have a golf course on the grounds. As a bonus, resorts also tend to be located in places with better views and better access to attractions like beaches.

Most people don’t get to travel to luxurious island destinations very often. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a lot of people. Although it’s tempting to stay in a less expensive place, you’ll probably find that it’s worth it to spend more to stay in a nice resort.
