Olympic Cyclist Banned for HGH Trafficking

The committee that oversees the Olympics in Italy has just banned a former Olympic cyclist from participating in their events for at least twenty years. (Of course this is effectively a permanent ban since it is unlikely that he would be in a competitive position after that much time has passed.) The reason that he has been banned is because he was caught selling hgh supplements to two amateur cyclists.

The Olympics committee takes the use and sale of performance enhancing drugs very seriously. This is not because of any problems or side effects of hgh. Instead it is because these drugs are very effective at boosting your athletic talent and the Olympics are supposed to be all about the athletic prowess that you exhibit without any help except your own hard work.

The cyclist, Giannia de Ros, was not the only person charged in this incident. There were ten other cyclists that were also punished for various amounts of time due to their involvement in the trafficking of hgh. It is easy to see why it’s so tempting to use this type of product in a setting like this since it can so successfully improve your speed and strength but since it’s not allowed at the Olympics it’s not worth it for people who are competing at this level.

Golf + Shuffleboard = Sholf

I have been thinking about buying a shuffleboard table for my boyfriend for Christmas. I’ve never bought one of these tables before though so I’ve been doing a lot of research into what to look for in a shuffleboard table. While doing this research I discovered a new type of game that you can buy. It’s called Sholf.

Sholf is a mixture between shuffleboard and golf. It is a set that comes with a long carpet and a bunch of golf balls. The carpet has three different scoring zones laid out on to it. Like with shuffleboard, your goal is to put your ball as close to the edge of the carpet as possible without it falling off because only the team that is closest to the edge gets to count the points. Like with golf, you use a putter to hit the ball across the green carpet.

The game looks like it could be fun. You can hit your ball into other people’s balls in order to knock them off the carpet and get your ball closest to the edge where you want it. I think we’d get a kick out of playing that. Still, it’s not the same as a real shuffleboard table so I don’t think that this is what I’ll be getting.

Shopping for my Husband

I don’t know why I get suckered into going shopping for my husband’s heath supplements, but somehow he convinces me each time to do it for him. I guess I will blame it on love, or stupidity, but whatever the case, I am the shopping guinea pig for his health products.

You see, my husband is a professional rower and therefore he is training constantly year round. He is no spring chicken by any means, and he has found that health supplements (such as the human growth hormone) have allowed him to perform as he did years ago, even though he is older now. It seems to work for him and I don’t mind buying for him now since we had a talk a few months ago.

I confronted him just a couple months ago when I watched a program on television that highlighted the side effects of HGH and I was really worried for him. He was patient enough to explain to me why he took it and showed me some sites online that explained what the risks were and how it was a very safe supplement to take.

Anyway, after putting my mind at ease, I trust that my husband knows what he is doing. That is why I don’t mind doing these shopping trips for him – it is my way to help him out with his training.

Ideal Spots for Sports

I used to think it was silly to travel just to participate in a sport. That’s probably because I was never much of an athlete. After dating several guys who were really into different sports, I came to see that there are some places that are simply ideal for certain sports. Now it makes sense to me that people travel to enjoy their favorite sports there.

Skiing is the best example of this that I can think of. There are certain conditions that make it easy to ski. The altitude, the terrain and the weather of a location will all create different skiing conditions. When you find the perfect conditions, your ski experience becomes much better. That’s why people go on vacations to ski Canadian Rockies and other perfect mountains.

Most sports can probably be done in most locations. You can pick up a baseball bat and swing it just about anywhere. Unless you’re at a pro level where you get to play at amazing ball parks, the parks that you play at are all pretty much the same. But that’s not true for all sports. When it comes to sports where the external conditions matter, it may be worth it to travel to better locations to play your games.

My Passion for Fishing and my Marriage

Even though summer hasn’t hit yet, I am getting anxious to get out on the water. You see, once the ice melts, you can pretty much find me at the lake every weekend, fishing. Yes, I’ll admit that fishing is my passion and I take every opportunity that I can get to be out on the water doing what I love.

But in some respects, it has been a struggle to do what I love since I got married. My wife knew that I was a fisherman at heart when we tied the knot, but sometimes it is a struggle to get out of the house as she thinks that I spend more time on the lake than with her.

Even though I stay at home all winter, it is never enough for her. And even then, when I do have something to say, she just rolls her eyes at me when I talk about the latest sale on some marine accessories that I have been eyeing - she just doesn’t seem to care that these things are interesting for me.

It frustrates me even more when she buys me a tie instead of the stern drive parts that I put on my birthday list each year. For all her complaining that she does about me not listening to her, you’d think that she would make an effort to listen to me too - but that isn’t the case.

So, I decided to have a good sit down with her and discuss our issues. We have compromised. I won’t go fishing every single weekend, like I usually do. And she’ll stop harping on me, and try to find things that we both like to do together. I think that is a great way to incorporate both things in my life.

Point Spreads

Bookmakers changed sports gambling forever when they came out with the point spread in the 1940s. A point spread is a handicap that is placed on the team that is expected to win. For example if the Steelers are expected to crush the Ravens by three touchdowns, which would mean that the Steelers are predicted to win by 21 points. Therefore the point spread for this game is 21 points. In sports handicapping, this would mean that 21 points will be added to the Raven’s score or subtracted from the Steelers’ for betting purposes. If you want to place a bet on the Steelers, they must win by 22 points or more for you to win your bet. The purpose of the spread was to help the bookmakers balance their books. This way, the majority of gamblers will not all be betting on the same team. The point spread makes it more likely that people will bet on the team that is predicted to lose.

Bookies had another boost in the 1950s. Sports became a popular medium on television. Fans realized that wagering on game would make watching them even more exciting. Sports gambling has been growing in popularity ever since.

Proxy Batter

I used to love spending time in Clearwater Florida batting cages. Actually, I still do, but it isn’t the same as it used to be. After I graduated from high school, I used to go to batting cages to unwind and smoke a few fastballs. It all started in middle school, when my parents had me try Tampa baseball catching training at a professional baseball camp. I was a catcher for my middle school team at the time, and I had a blast. I made new friends and improved my game by leaps and bounds. I’ve never been all-star material or anything, but I was also always good enough to enjoy the game and never feel like I was dragging the team down. I recommend Florida baseball camp unreservedly to all parents whose kids want to go. Any kids that are excited enough to go are almost sure to have a good time and learn plenty about the game. I’m not so sure about forcing kids to do something like this if they don’t want to, partly because it doesn’t seem friendly and partly because it seems futile. Anyway, I go to batting cages at the same indoor facility to unwind and relax. It hasn’t been the same ever since my arm was torn off in a farm equipment accident a year and a half ago. Why do I still go? My girlfriend hits ‘em for me, and I congratulate her and offer her pointers. She loves it as much as I ever did.

Recommended Gear to Take on a Float Trip

There are several pieces of fly fishing gear that is recommended that you take along on your GA fishing trip. Depending upon the season, you will want to take a couple of different things if your trip is taken during the colder months. The cold weather on the river while fly fishing North Georgia can be quite a bit different than going during the warmer months. Obviously, for this reason, a lot of extra layering and under clothing should be considered. Long johns work very well as a layer system for both upper and lower body warmth. Also, you will find that neck gators, fingerless gloves and ski-type hats will give protection from the cool breeze. Add a fleece or rain jacket for a windproof outerwear that is also waterproof.

Common things that you will need to take regardless of the season are polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, wool socks, waders and wading boots with extra room, along with the previously mentioned items. Don’t forget to take along some extra clothes, just in case you may fall into the water or something unexpected happens. They normally bring a camera with them, but you may like to bring your own so that you can have your own digital memories.
