My Daughter is Now an Adult

It’s official: my daughter is now an adult! No, she didn’t just have a birthday. She’s now an adult because she just enrolled in college! And I couldn’t be happier.

Let me give you a little background. When my daughter graduated high school 2 years ago, she decided she didn’t want to go to college. College isn’t for everyone, so I was okay with it at the time. That is, until I found out she didn’t really want to work much either. To me, if you aren’t going to attend college, then you better work full time.

Well, fast forward 2 years, and it finally hit my daughter that she needed to go to school. Honestly, I think it’s a good thing that she didn’t go to college the last 2 years. Now, she’s experienced firsthand just how important a college diploma is in the real world. So, she’ll be taking her classes very seriously.

She still hasn’t decided what she wants to major in. I suggested getting a business administration degree, but she thinks she might want to pursue a histotechnology degree. My advice to her is just to major in whatever makes her happy.

Congratulations to you, Sarah (my daughter)!
