Bringing Home Decor Into The Office

One of the things that I have found to be true in designing my own office space is that it’s important to me to have a lot of personal touches in that space while also maintaining a professional atmosphere. I have found that choosing the right furniture for the office helps greatly with creating the ambience that I desire.
A key thing that I’ve discovered is that furniture intended for the home can sometimes be added to the office in a creative way to alter the feeling and mood of the office space. Of course, you wouldn’t purchase a bedroom set for your office but you might purchase smaller items (such as lamps) that are really meant for a home but which bring a warm feeling to the office. Unusual pieces from home can bring a sense of your own personality into your work space.
One neat thing that I found was that bar stools intended for the home kitchen could be used in some office settings to create a casual atmosphere without reducing the professionalism of the environment. By choosing a modern design and decorating appropriately around this type of furniture, the overall “office feel” of the space isn’t lost but it’s softened a bit to increase comfort.
